The five weeks that was August now draw to a close and
after last week’s Bank Holiday bonanza it would only be wise to pull out one of
the biggest line-ups to ensure that partying and fun can continue long into
September. No rest for the wicked hey! And boy oh boy, are the wicked welcome
at The Gallery
this Friday 29th
August.
Hernan
Cattaneo
continues his residency and mutual love with The Gallery by squeezing another
eagerly anticipated appearance in before his six months are up and he moves
back south at Xmas to spend six months touring the southern hemisphere. Having
rocked several Gallery main rooms already including a rather special 4 hour set
in June; the chance to programme a Gallery round this man is an honour not
taken lightly and in the true spirit of building a musical progression provided
by the best around he is joined
Gallery guru Tall Paul
continues to turnout for his beloved Gallery and after mixing it up with
several hugely popular appearances in the bar in recent months he returns to
his rightful place and a space that will be perfect for Paul’s enthusiastic DJing
style and educated style of tunage.
The Bar sees Mass Recordings continue to rise to prominence.
Hosting parties all over the south coast off the back of their record label
they have proved time after time to be hugely popular with The Gallery faithful
and as such take over the Bar this month with headline action TBC and as always
resident boy wonder Kieran Brindley and a bevy of up and coming, new
breed DJs to get in on the act. The Baby Box is hosted, this week, not by a
promotion but by one man; John Askew. As a long serving Gallery resident we
may be slightly biased but John has become a hugely respected figure in dance
music running a leading trance imprint alongside his own unique and impressive
style of production which has led to fans such as Paul van Dyk and with his
larger than life personality evident in his djing has won a legion of fans for
killer sets. Rewarded last year with an Essential Mix on Radio 1 and with a
vast musical knowledge and taste he was well up for showcasing 8 hours of tunes
from across the spectrum of John Askew… it’s a must for any fan and
truly set to be a memorable occasion a la Askew style!

September is here and with it comes the end of the
festival and Ibiza season – which saw The Gallery host
our amazing 6000 capacity tent at London’s South West Four. Having not allowed either to hamper our summer
season, here at The Gallery we’ve actually just enjoyed the busiest and most
successful summer in our 13 years history!! Moving onto this Friday 5th
September then at Ministry of Sound....
We now skip merrily into another month of madness
welcoming the biggest jocks, best new talent and cutting edge music all
showcased in the world-class surroundings of the Ministry of Sound each and
every Friday. If you have not checked in for a Gallery session yet we seriously
suggest sorting that immediately and with our line-ups in September offering
something for everyone, the end of the festival season and Ibiza winding down there are no excuses
and we mean none what so ever!!!
Marco V returns with another 3 Hour Set
to kick start the month. After using his last 3 hours to provide a perfect
lesson in how to rock the Ministry of Sound Box to its foundations we thought
it wise to bring him back as soon as humanly possible to do it all over again.
With his usual summer schedule including all the leading festivals and regular
appearances on the White Isle for the biggest and best parties around he even
found time to get in the studio with fellow Dutchman Sander van Doorn and come
up with ‘Organic’ which has been doing the business on a weekly basis at The
Gallery for some time now! Joining Marco will be Matthew Dekay, one of the most
forward thinking and unique DJs around; his productions find favour with quite
possibly the broadest range of DJs possible from the likes of Armin van Buuren
to Sasha to James Holden to Erick
Morillo. Tunes such as ‘Clearing the Mind’, ‘The Deep Show’ and ‘Trousy’ have
made him a firm favourite with the trance establishment looking for intelligent
deeper edged music and with the refined progressive establishment. With his
ability to stamp his own mark on any genre, Matthew is one of the most exciting
DJs and producers and will provide the perfect sound ahead of Marco. Randy Katana
has become world renowned with hit productions such as ‘Pleasure Island’,
‘Fancy Fair’ and ‘In Silence’ One of the leaders of the tech trance revolution
of recent time Randy is no stranger to the world’s leading dancefloors and
festivals and has become a popular figure at The Gallery with his trademark
sound and infectious charm winning over the Gallery faithful and expect the
usual full on dancefloor destruction to ensue with his sound providing the
perfect gear shift upwards following Marco V. Biased Guy provides the early doors
warm up for the Box setting the tone perfectly before Ben Gold, a real rising talent in
the world of trance both as a producer and a DJ, brings the night home in the
usual hands in the air finale that we love here at Gallery.
The Bar welcomes the Trophy Twins to headline the proceedings. The
cheeky chaps have been rocking dancefloors worldwide as well as becoming
regular voices on the airwaves with their own BBC Radio 1 show. With
residencies for the likes of Judgement Sunday in Ibiza, a bevy of tunage and
remixes forthcoming and gigs with the likes of Roger Sanchez and Eric Morillo
in the coming months its clear to see why they remain as popular as ever and we
cannot wait to unleash their sound on the bar for what promises to be another
rocking and rolling occasion. Tania von Pear continues her Gallery residency by
providing the heavyweight support to the twins a la trophy by bringing her
trademark high energy antics to proceedings. Helping her in her quest for
dancefloor perfection will be production rising star Graeme Lloyd who makes
a more than welcome return to Gallery as well as new faces Greg Stainer and Nevin.
The Baby Box is hosted by Tri Funk whose DJs of choice this month include Matt Gypps, Macca,
Better Red than Dead, Andy Duckitt whilst the Lounge is the place to
head to celebrate
Innuendo’s 2nd Birthday who have
invited Welfare For The
Digital, Jonny Millward, Rob + D.A.V.E Marchant and Marky Sparks to blow the candles out in style.

Ministry of Sound is 17 years old this weekend
and we are thrilled to be invited to help them celebrate this huge achievement
and landmark in its already distinguished history. Having spent 13 years
ourselves as a regular club night we know only too well how hard it is and what
a testament it is to stay in this game for so many years. To help the
celebrations of what looks set to be one hell of a weekend we’re inviting a
bevy of names from down the years to come and do their thing at The Gallery
all in the amazing surroundings of the Ministry of Sound. Treading the line
between regular and well known Gallery faces from over the years and DJs and
producers with history at the Ministry of Sound as well - we‘ve brought
together a right bunch of legends for Friday 12th September, without further ado may we
present The Gallery at Ministry of
Sound’s 17th Birthday Weekend…
Headlining this birthday
extravaganza is none other than one of the leading names in the history of
dance music. Quite simply he is one of the original, still one of the best and
the man who played ‘Let It Be’ at the last weekend of Turnmills… be upstanding
for Danny
Rampling. From his early rave parties at Shoom to the Lovegroove
Dance Party show on Radio 1 via his cult residency at Turnmills with
Metrogroove and London Calling, Danny Rampling has lived and breathed house
music his whole life. He’s also graced the decks at MOS on a few exclusive
moments throughout their own rich history and we felt he was the right man for
the job this evening. Standing some 6ft 6 tall (nicknamed ‘Tall Paul’ by Hooj Choons boss Red
Jerry) Paul is literally the man who towers over The Gallery and all it does.
Setting the night up with his brother Danny; Paul has gone onto be one of the
‘International Superstar DJ’ elite, the world over. Whether it be producing
tunes such as ‘Rock Da House’, his Camisra guise with ‘Let Me Show You’ or
remixing INXS – ‘Precious Heart’ to being a regular the world over at every
leading club and festival to mixing leading compilations for Ministry of Sound
such as The Annual to running Duty Free Records to presenting his show on Kiss
100; Paul is one of those DJs who can fairly claim to have been there, done it
and got the T shirt. Guaranteed to be dusting off some of the anthems from over
the years and with his prescience unrivalled behind the decks he will whip the
Box into one of those Paul frenzies that only he can provide. Not half! Seb Fontaine has
been part of The Gallery family since the very beginning; indeed Seb and Paul
commanded the Kiss airwaves together on Saturday nights before his move to
Radio 1. Involved with huge tracks such as Hands Burn – ‘Good Shot’ and Reflect
– ‘Need to Feel Loved’ he also ran the infamous Spot On records. A massive
figure in the world of dance music; Seb has always been a welcome figure at
Gallery and is yet another leading name to add to the main room Birthday
celebrations. Gallery residents Gavyn Mytchel and The Viceroy provide the newbie twist
that the Gallery has always strived hard to showcase and will be doing their
thing and of course holding their own alongside the world-class legends in the
Box; providing the perfect warm up and end of night finale respectively for
this huge occasion
The Bar welcomes another world
class selection of DJs including headline action from Mark Moore (he of S’Express fame)
who is a welcome addition alongside long term resident at The Cross and amongst
many other notable jobs one of the forces behind the huge Manifesto Records, Luke Neville. Steve
Lee has been at The Gallery since day one and for eight years
defined the 6am set and in the process
became a hero amongst the Gallery faithful. Now a regular and incredibly
popular figure in the Bar with his more Balearic vibe it would not be right to
not have Steve ‘The Legend’ Lee doing his thing, bring it on!!. Clockwork
Orange main man and Ibiza legend Andy Manston returns to give us a taste of the stuff that made Clockwork Orange
into one of the biggest brands on the planet whilst Mark Myers gets the room off to the
perfect start.
The Baby box welcomes Retro and its head
honcho Paul
Taylor for one of his usual run down of all things, well, Retro for
5 hours. Expect the usual bevy of classics and dancefloor greats served in the
usual Retro style. Should be marvellous! The lounge meanwhile welcomes Minimal
who are represented by The Quirk Burglars, Shepz,
Akeel, Lewis N and Dom Young.

The Gallery follows up last week’s MOS
Birthday Weekender with another unmissable night of electronic beats as we
throw the doors open in typically ‘open-minded’ fashion to Darren Emerson, Hybrid and Dave Seaman
in the Box on Friday
19th September, whilst the Bar plays host to Guy J’s Bedrock album
launch party alongside fellow proggers John Quivver Graham, Jamie McHugh and Tim
Davison.
Darren
Emerson is the Underwater Records head-honcho and former Underworld
member who for more than a decade has been at the very top of his game. Whether
making music himself or releasing it via his label, Darren remains as
influential as ever and a very popular figure on the tour circuit. It’s been a
very long time indeed since Darren last played at The Gallery (certainly never
before at MOS) and so we jumped at the chance to get him back in the Gallery
groove. Backing him up will be Hybrid – who’ve forged a reputation as leading
producers which have seen them collaborate with artists such as New
Order's Peter Hook, The Pretender's Chrissie Hynde and the 90-piece Russian
Federal Orchestra, as well as remixing over 40 artists including Radiohead,
Alanis Morissette, Carl Cox, BT, The Future Sound Of London and Moby. Famed for
classic cuts like ‘Finished Symphony’, the Hybrid duo launched their new CD to a huge reception
alongside BT in late July and we couldn’t wait any longer to get them back. Believe
us, when we say that their 12 – 2am set was quite simply one of those ‘must
see’ sets and blew us all away. We invited the chaps back straight away and
we’re delighted that they’re returning to do it all over again! Another one of The Gallery legends who continues to be at
the forefront of the scene is the ever busy and popular, Dave Seaman. A prog pioneer and all round nice chap, Dave has been
touring the world including his much talked about appearance at Glastonbury and his continued
record label success with Audiotherapy. A regular at Gallery for years and the
man who rocked the Box with his end of night set at our massive prog fest in
June with fellow proggers Nick Warren and Satoshi Tomiie may we suggest that
you do not miss him. Gavyn Mytchel rounds this week’s
proceedings off in the Box with his usual devilish devastation whilst James Edwards & Dave Minns are getting us
all warmed up. Ooh cant wait!
Guy J is this week’s headliner in the Bar as part of his Bedrock
Album Launch Party. The Israeli producer is releasing his debut
album entitled Esperanza which features a bonus CD featuring club mixes
of several singles as well as two previously unreleased tracks,
"Aftertouch" and "Avalanche." Guy's recent remix of Sasha's
"Mongoose" has been a huge tune and we are excited to be showcasing
this talent and look out for the first three initial singles, "Under
Pressure," "Geko," and "Mirko," over the coming
months. Joined
by John 'Quivver' Graham who is a popular
guest with us here at The Gallery brings his Quivver sound to the Bar once
more. Following his superb album earlier in the year the man with more guises
than who knows what is back to do his thing and will be a perfect accompaniment
to Guy J whilst rising star Jamie McHugh,
fresh from mixing a new CD for Emerson’s Underwater gets in on the action as
well. Tim Davison launched his
debut album ‘A Long Way from Home’ earlier in the year and makes a welcome
return to the Bar. Fans of the prog sound will not be disappointed whilst Jody
Hannan is tasked with getting it all going ahead of this massive Bar line up.
The lounge welcomes a return from
Solid Kiss
who invite along with leading lady Moni Viking Princessother London talent in the form of Scott
D'Souza, SoLow, Sound System, Scott Ferris, Sean Troyand Mikey Fisher.Whilst regular faces Plastic Fondu are back once more in the intimate
surroundings of the Lounge with an all star cast including the Mismatch DJs, Matt
Dahl & Markus Buhmann, Rokit, Nick Fratarolli, Nick Brickell and
Mikey 4Getz

The end of the month is nigh but fear not as we provide
another Friday night session of Gallery goodness at the Ministry of Sound in London for your
nocturnal pleasure. And a rather splendid affair it is too, with a spread of world-class
talent and big name jocks lining up on Friday 26th September for your audio delectation.
First up is our resident and headliner Hernan Cattaneo who since
making his UK
debut at The Gallery, has gone onto become one of the world’s biggest and most
respected DJs. Now a regular fixture in DJ Mag’s Top 10 chart thingy, Hernan
continues to support new talent with his critically acclaimed Renaissance
series and regular appearances at the world’s leading festivals. His recent Renaissance -
Sequential Vol. 2 mix compilation further proved his worth whilst he continues
to divide his time between the northern and southern hemisphere for half of the
year respectively we are delighted that for the last six months he has called
us home in the UK.
Guy Gerber is a name we are very excited
about welcoming to The Gallery here at Ministry. The ex footballer from Tel
Aviv is seriously in the ascendancy to the stratosphere. Shooting to mass attention in 2004 with his production ‘Stoppage
Time’, a peak-time dancefloor destroyer which Gerber put together in three
hours supposedly!! It was picked up by DJs as varied as John Digweed and Sven
Vath. In fact, Vath loved it so much he signed Gerber to Cocoon for whom he has
produced three 12”s, including RA fave ‘Sea of Sand’ with Shlomi Aber, and now
a debut LP ‘Late Bloomers’, released this month. Taking off in 2007, Guy
Gerber's label Supplement Facts from Tel Aviv, has seen releases from Gerber
himself, Chaim, David K, REshuffle, Catwash (Chris Carrier & DJ Wild) and
Varoslav, as well as remixes from Johnny D and Reboot - all releases becoming
essential players in any DJ's set. Gerber has also toured the label around the
world, hitting Sonar, Berlin and various dates in Japan, Italy, France,
Amsterdam, Belgium and more and remains a seriously in demand
DJ heading out from Tel Aviv each weekend to play clubs around Europe, North
America and Asia. Gerber weaves together house and techno with a fine ear for
melody and is going to be a sure fire winner for the Box at this week’s
Gallery. After helping launch her amazing new DJ compilation and catching up
with her (and the latest gossip about the new Faithless album) Sister Bliss
did what she does best and fucking blew the place away in August.. so it’s a
return for her good self in September and another chance to witness firsthand
the reasons we wax lyrical about her and are dead chuffed to have her as part
of the Gallery. The rising stars and 2008 winners of The Gallery DJ competition
Uniondjs
provide the early doors warm up. With a huge London following and
an infectious energy both on and off the decks these two lovable chaps are
going to set the tone perfectly for the occasion.
Hosted by Berwick Street Sessions, the Bar is given the Timo Garcia treatment once more as he is joined by
international stars not to be missed - Ricky Stone
and Eric Kupper, plus local boy done good
Rhyd B gets it all going early doors. This celebration of the
passing of August is completed by the Baby Box welcoming Lose Control and their disc jockeys
Future Freakz,
Dave Winney, Joelle Atkins, SimonHills & Digital Dog, Stuart Donaghy & Major DJ and This Is Stereo. Over the Lounge Licked welcome
Jason Chance,
Rob Loco, Lewi Five-O, Rob & D.A.V.E Marchant and James Wilkinson.
You would be mad to miss it. We won’t be!
