Gavyn Mytchel

Biography
Gavyn Mytchel has enjoyed a meteoric rise to prominence in recent years. From his humble beginnings as a clubber, firstly at Cream at Nation to then becoming a regular on The Gallery’s dancefloors, Gavyn has always been one to chase his dream.

One of the lucky few, Gavyn went on to land a residency at The Gallery at Turnmills alongside Tall Paul, sign his first track to Armin van Buuren’s Armada label, get recommended by Fergie as his tip for Mixmag Future Hero and snapped up by Ministry of Sound to present one of their flagship radio shows.

Now a weekly resident for The Gallery at Turnmills, a regular at leading clubs across the globe and a producer synomous with leading labels and A list dj support; Gavyn has made the leap from a promising, rising star to one of the industry’s consistent and widely respected names.

Here he is seen playing on a wide range of cutting edge lineups alongside the biggest and best djs and producers. Winner of ‘Mixmag’s London Club of the Year for the past three years, The Gallery has now entered its thirteenth year as a weekly club night. Gavyn has become a firm favourite not only with The Gallery faithful but with a cross section of headlining djs leading to requests from the likes of Armin van Buuren and Hernan Cattaneo for his prescience on the hallowed Turnmills decks when they visit.

A regular at the leading clubbing establishments across the UK and beyond including the likes of Godskitchen, Cream, Inside Out, Passion, Promise and Tangled to name but a few. Gavyn also enjoys a busy international diary, topping up his Air Miles with recent trips to the likes of Dubai, Singapore, India, Thailand, Cyprus, Malta, Ibiza, Russia, USA, China, Egypt, Italy, Holland and many more.

Notable appearances have included the sell out SW4 festivals in London, 3 consecutive New Years Eve sell outs at Brixton Academy, Nick Warren’s Global Underground launch party in Cairo, Love Leeds Festival and the Machac event in Prague with Carl Cox in front of 15,000 people.

Away from the DJ circuit Gavyn has gained widespread recognition as a consistent producer. Under the 'Mnemonic' guise his very first track 'Insurrection' was snapped up by Armada's Captivating Sounds. Gavyn's follow up was the dancefloor smash "Forbidden" which was instantly signed up for Duty Free’s sister label "Intensive".

The Vortex EP "Dura Mater & K Complex" followed and with several releases under his belt Gavyn was becoming a regular in the record boxes and cd wallets of the biggest and best including Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold and many more.

Recently Gavyn’s release schedule has continued apace and seen him release material on a range of labels including ‘Vocoder’ on Noys, ‘Resurrection’ on JOOF recordings and the huge collaboration with Albert Vorne entitled ‘Coincidence’ on Mazeman. ‘Eye Typer’ and ‘Neural Netwerk’ kicked off 2007 with support from the usual range of leading djs that Gavyn’s tracks have become accustomed to being supported by.

Gavyn’s wide ranging sound; taking in progressive, tech and trance influences makes him a perfect choice for one of the flagship radio shows on Ministry of Sound radio. The Viceroy

Biography

The Viceroy is a rapidly rising star in clubland; one half of the hugely successful Vaccine promotion, The Viceroy was picked by London’s number 1 club night The Gallery as part of their 2006 Nu Breed along with Sander van Doorn, John Askew and Gavyn Mytchel and has already enjoyed huge success both as a DJ and a producer.

Tipped by many, his productions of late are to be found in the cd wallets of the worlds biggest djs including Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Above and Beyond, Christopher Lawrence, Eddie Halliwell, Marco V, Sander van Doorn, Markus Schulz and many more, leading to plaudits from across the board including Judge Jules who tips him as ‘One of the most exciting trance dj’s to have emerged out of London in ages’

Still only 21 years old, The Viceroy has just been unveiled as the latest Gallery main room resident alongside main room stalwarts such as Tall Paul, Sister Bliss, Sander van Doorn, John Askew and Gavyn Mytchel.

Also resident at Turnmills for Vaccine, The Viceroy helped steer the night from its Thursday night slot to hosting a room at The Gallery and is seen playing monthly and booking the best new talent and UK debuts from the likes of Yahel, Fabio Stein, Richard Durand, Kyau and Albert through to Matthew Dekay and Oliver Prime among many more.

With a host of successful main room appearances including being asked to close Marco V's album launch party at The Gallery and appearing as part of their 2006 New Breed. September 2007 saw The Viceroy take up a permanent slot behind the hallowed main room ones and twos for The Gallery with his launch party a closing set after none other than Armin van Buuren.

The Viceroy has also enjoyed previous appearances at the likes of Love Leeds festival, Eden in Ibiza, Brixton Academy, Mission in Leeds, Honey Club in Brighton and even a tour of Russia and Ukraine whilst winter 2007 sees a regular Vaccine radio show, hosted by The Viceroy, launch on the ever popular VONYC platform.

In May 2007 The Viceroy was personally invited by Judge Jules to fetch his cds from across London to play after him at Heaven whilst a late running dj made there way to Jules's very own Judgement Sunday launch party. Not on the bill but merely on a night out and with a bevy of other djs to choose from in the building, Jules's choice highlights exactly why the buzz continues to build round this young dj.

Not just a successful DJ; a steady stream of quality productions and remixes have followed the djing including The Viceroy vs Karl G 'Perception' receiving massive support from, amongst others, Paul van Dyk and being given a remix by Kuffdam and Plant for the debut release on Vaccine Records.

The Viceroy - 'End Game' was the first solo release to follow and was snapped up by John Askew for his Flux Delux imprint. Hammered by Tiesto for 3 weeks on national radio and featuring at every of his concert events for over two months it also picked up support and radio plays from the likes of Armin van Buuren, Above and Beyond, Sander van Doorn, Markus Schulz, Christopher Lawrence, Eddie Halliwell and John OO Fleming to name but a few.

This was followed by The Viceroy’s Vaccination remix of Frontline – Surface to Air which saw similar levels of support including Tiesto and Armin van Buuren and picked up further critical acclaim from the likes of DJ Mag and Mixmag.

Additional releases include a collaboration with Ehren Stowers entitled ‘Way of Life’ released on Monster Pure. Championed by Armin van Buuren and appearing on his forthcoming ASOT 2007 compilation it also featured on John Askew’s Live as Vol 4 as well as picking up support from Ferry Corsten and Andy Moor among many others.

Discover Dark plays host to the next solo outing of The Viceroy with his dark, broody trance monster that is 'Affirmative Action' forthcoming on John Askew's personal imprint Discover Dark with a remix from man of the moment Fabio Stein. Already included on John's Live As Vol 3 from Lebanon this is another track destined to do some damage

The Viceroy has also teamed up with rising star Frase for a full on tech monster in the shape of 'Search Warrant' which has been a staple track in the wallet of Marco V and is set for a release on Elektrotek also in late 2007. Other projects include a collaboration with Cream resident Gareth Wyn with the aptly titled 'La Galeria' which Paul van Dyk has been regularly spinning in the last few months and now signed to his personal Vandit imprint and a re- rub of Ricky Fobis’s massive anthem No Regular.

Hotly tipped by the likes of The Gallery and showing no reason for them to doubt their decision The Viceroy looks set to continue his assault on the scene throughout 2008 and is seriously a name to watch.
