John Askew album..   26/08/2008
Friday 29th August sees John Askew launch his eagerly anticipated album ' Z List Uber Star' by playing an 8 hour set in the Baby Box.

As a long serving Gallery resident we may be slightly biased but John has become a hugely respected figure in dance music running a leading trance imprint alongside his own unique and impressive style of production which has led to fans such as Paul van Dyk and with his larger than life personality evident in his djing has won a legion of fans for killer sets.

Rewarded last year with an Essential Mix on Radio 1 and with a vast musical knowledge and taste he was well up for showcasing 8 hours of tunes from across the spectrum of John Askew… it’s a must for any fan and truly set to be a memorable occasion a la Askew style!

Oakenfold this Fri   17/08/2008
This Friday welcomes back Mr Paul Oakenfold of course!

Bank Holiday madness has arrived. Time does indeed fly by when you are having fun and fun a plenty is the order of the day at The Gallery on Friday 22nd August as we get the August Bank Holiday weekend off to a massive start with a line-up worthy of any festival arena!! Leading the charge is a man who helped set us on our way earlier this year at our new home here at Ministry of Sound by not only rocking the Box to its very foundations with a trademark killer of a set, but gave it the thumbs up and vowed to continue his long and very important love affair with The Gallery by returning as often as possible.

The original man of trance and a very long term friend of The Gallery; Paul has recently seen a return to his original and first love that of DJing on a larger scale than in recent time. The result has been an inevitable move back up the Top 100 rankings and the mass appreciation that this legend of the scene has deservedly held for so long. With the re-launch of his Perfecto label – which gave us so many seminal anthems in its time – and a bevy of new artists and producers in its ranks; Paul will be leading The Gallery’s mammoth trance line-up alongside Matt Hardwick, Dutch wonderkid Menno De Jong, Gallery residents Gavyn Mytchel and The Viceroy.

Over in The Bar The Gallery takes a step back in time to a real moment in dance music history and is not to be missed as Oakie reassemblies his Spectrumnight for a very special reunion. Spectrum was the product of Oakenfold’s infamous trip to Ibiza back in 1987 when he, Danny Rampling and Nicky Holloway all came back to London to spread the Balearic gospel and so Spectrum was born. Tonight’s backroom party showcases some of the sounds that made Spectrum such an influential event and in Lisa Loud, Trevor Fung and Steve Lee – Oakie welcomes back some of the big jocks of that era who’re still busy on dancefloors around the globe today.

Meanwhile, Reminsce host the Baby Box with their sound and choice of DJs getting to showcase their stuff, whilst the Lounge continues to throw some great parties in its surroundings with this week’s honours being given to Classique who make the journey southwards to do their thing

X Press 2 ...   11/08/2008
Rocky, Diesel and Ashley Beedle have become world famous as the trio that make up X–Press 2 and to help celebrate the launch of their Best Of Collection titled Raise your Hands the guys are dropping by to do what they do best and DJ for 6 hours. Combining 3 mixers, 6 decks and a myriad of EFX and quality tunage the boys are always sure fire winners with crowds across the globe and we are delighted to b hosting the London leg of the tour. The trio have been dishing up Balearic house, progressive, disco and pop house since the early nineties often employing male vocalists such as David Byrne ('Lazy') and The Music's Rob Byrne ('Kill 100') and Kurt Wagner ('Give It') on their biggest singles. Raise your Hands lifts its title from the Sole Fusion sample used on their first single 'London X-Press' and the collection includes their four big singles from 2002's crossover album Muzikum, three cuts from follow up Makeshift Feelgood as well as early singles on Junior Boys Own, whose entire back catalogue is about to be reissued digitally and physically. The collection also comes with a second remix disc including big X-Press 2 re-rubs by Carl Craig, Freeform Five and Superchumbo as well as X-Press 2's remix of 'Star69' by the artist formerly known as Fatboy Slim and The Gallery faithful will no doubt be treated to a bevy or original and remixes throughout the six hours. In short... this is the London Album Launch Party and it’s gonna be one unmissable event!!

Complimenting the X-Press 2 guys will be fellow London legends Faith who’ll be hosting The Bar on the night. Faith are one of the longest running house parties in the capital and easily one of the best and most respected. Their links to the X-Press 2 chaps are endless from the JBO label to regular guest spots at each others parties. It’s like one big live nest, with plenty of acid house thrown in for good measure!!! Representing Faith on the night will be old skool dudes Pete Heller and Terry Farley, plus Stuart Patterson, Dave Jarvis and warm up Chris Linnell. Well worth a visit this week just for the Faith room alone... they’re gonna smash it up!! The Baby Box sees the UnionDJs and assorted friends and entourages return to The Gallery to proudly display their wares whilst the Lounge gets the Future Friday Feeling treatment to round off another mammoth Gallery night out. Be Prepared!!

Leading the Italian invasion of Gaunt Street is arguably the greatest of them all Mauro Picotto. Joining him will be Fabio Stein; one of the leading names of the trance scene emerging at present. The São Paulo-based, Italian born tech-trance pioneer was the very first trance producer from his country to release a major hit in Europe whilst /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} Albert Vorne, who’s been simmering away for a few years as a serious talent, joins the Box lineup. The man from Milan shot to our attention with his ‘Leaden Day’ track taking trance DJs and clubs by storm. Now signed and heavily involved with M.I.K.E.’s Club Elite imprint and with his album ‘Ravens over my Rave’ about to drop, Albert has become one of those figures synonymous with quality and good taste.

Over in The Bar we bring back main man Daniele Davoli to headline the funky space. Daniele’s part of clubbing history is long established, not only for his legendary status at Gallery HQ, but for his ace productions under the guise of Blackbox back in the day. Always evolving as a DJ and producer, get ready for another epic outing from the Perfecto hero as he fires up the room alongside fellow Italian stars Francesco Farfa, Claudio Basile and Gabrielle Cutrano.  Meanwhile, over in the Baby Box London Insomnia take to the task of keeping you not only staying awake but dancing all night!!
